Naxals plan 10th congress in c’garh?
Maoists are planning to hold their crucial 10th congress in the rebel-controlled Abujhmad, a 6,000-sq-km densely forested region extending from south Bastar in Chhattisgarh to Gadchiroli in Maharashtra, reports received by the state police said here on Tuesday.
“We have received intelligence inputs that Abujhmad is being considered one of the options by the rebel leadership to choose the venue of their 10th congress, viewed as crucial for them, since the Maoist movement is currently in disarray following recent killings and arrests of a number of top leaders,” Bastar range inspector-general of police T.J. Longkumar told this newspaper.
A strict vigil has been maintained at all entry points to Abujhmad.
