NCP leader Gurunath Kulkarni dead

NCP state general secretary Gurunath Kulkarni passed away here on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. He was 71.

Mr Kulkarni, member of legislative council, passed away this afternoon at a private hospital in suburban Andheri.

The NCP leader will be cremated here on Thursday, party's state spokesperson Mahesh Tapase said.

Mr Kulkarni, who hailed from coastal Konkan region, was with the Sharad Pawar-led party since its inception in 1999 and served as its spokesperson.
