NCW chief writes to MHA
Unhappy over the way the CBI closed the investigations into the Aarushi murder case, National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Girija Vyas on Friday said that she has written to the home ministry and the law ministry for asking the CBI to do further investigations.
Talking to the media Ms Vyas stated: “The commission is not happy with the way investigations have ended in the Aarushi murder case.” She added, “The CBI should carry on their investigations and book the culprit. “How is it possible that no one has killed Aarushi,” Ms Vyas said.
“While we as a country boost about our progress in science and technology, it is a sorry state that the CBI, which is the premier investigating agency of the country, expresses its helplessness to find and nail down the culprits of a murder as gruesome as Aarushi’s,” she said.
She also said that all efforts should be made and no stone should be left unturned in nailing down the culprits. “This morning (Friday), I have written to the home minister and the law minister regarding the Aarushi murder,” she said.
Aarushi, the 14-year-old daughter of dentist parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in their Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida, May 16, 2008. The family’s domestic help, Hemraj, whom Noida police initially suspected for Aarushi’s murder, was also found killed on the flat’s terrace a day later. Talwars have also gone through sustained interrogation.
