NDA chalks out strategy
BJP Parliamentary Party and NDA floor leaders in both Houses of Parliament on Sunday held separate meetings to discuss the strategy to take on the Congress-led UPA, on the eve of the Budget Session of Parliament.
The BJP-led NDA will raise issues including corruption, black money, price rise and the alleged repeated attacks on the federal structure by the Centre.
However, the BJP, which during the last Winter Session of the Parliament had boycotted home minister P. Chidambaram for his alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum scam, decided not to boycott him in the Budget Session.
“His boycott was for the Winter Session....however, the 2G spectrum issue and other corruption scams of this government will be taken up by us,” said senior BJP leader S.S. Ahluwalia.
He also said that NDA would also want to conclude the debate on Lokpal Bill and put it to vote as the issue had remained inconclusive on the last day of the extended Winter Session.
While senior BJP leaders met in the morning to chalk out strategy for the budget session, NDA floor leaders had a meeting later at NDA working chairman L K Advani’s residence.
Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj had already stated that BJP and NDA will raise issues including formation of the NCTC without consulting the states, violation of the election model code of conduct by Union ministers in recent elections, the issue of bringing back two Indian children from Norway and alleged damming of Brahmaputra river by China.
