NDA hopes for Opp unity on price rise
The JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav is pinning hope on Opposition unity in the upcoming Parliament Session to corner the UPA government on the issue of price rise. Mr Yadav has expressed hope that all Opposition parties would support the demand of rollback of fuel price hike in Parliament. Mr Yadav is likely to reach out to leaders of all
the Opposition parties for unity on the issue of demand of rollback of the fuel price hike in the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which is slated to begin later this month.
Though the RJD, LJP and BSP has not taken part in the July 5 Bharat Bandh, the JD(U) chief is hopeful that even these parties would become part of the Opposition to raise the demand for rollback of fuel price hike.
“A person or party is not the leader this time, it is the issue that is the leader. On issues, the Opposition unity will get further strengthened in coming days and government will have to face the heat over price rise in the coming Session of Parliament,” Mr Yadav said.
The JD(U) chief is being credited for taking initiative in giving the call for Bharat Bandh and for reaching out to leaders of the Left parties and the Samajwadi Party. The SP has stated that the party would stall the proceedings on the very first day on the issue of the fuel price hike. Though the Opposition parties had also come together in the Budget session of Parliament, their unity was broken after the SP and RJD had staged walk out during the voting on the cut motion.
