Net tightens on Dutch lover
Dutch national Remco Elizabeth Martin Joseph Knocker, the boyfriend of Jose Vandy Villite Johanna also from the Netherlands, was found murdered on the night of March 21, is all set to be arrested as the postmortem report has revealed that it was a clear case of murder and he is suspected to have killed her.
Johanna’s death was reported to police only on Friday morning, though Knocker had spent two days with the dead body, giving rise to speculation about his involvement in the crime.
The body was sent to Chengalpet Government Medical College Hospital for autopsy and the report revealed that she was done to death.
The report said the woman had injuries on the back of the head, suggesting that she was either hit against a wall or the floor, police said.
She also would have suffered a rain of punches as the rib bones were broken, police said citing the autopsy report.
Police stated that there was no sexual assault on the woman and ruled out the involvement of outsiders.
Police are also not willing to buy Knocker’s theory that he fell unconscious after a group of people barged into the house on the night of March 21 and attacked him. He had told the police that when he regained consciousness a few hours later, he found Johanna dead.
Knocker had some nail marks on his body and police have sent the nail parts of the victim for medical examination to ascertain whether it matched the nail marks on the body of Knocker.
“If necessary, we will go for DNA test,” a senior police official told DC. Having collected circumstantial evidence, police are looking for more evidence to arrest Knocker.
