New CM found time to meet college friends
Despite his busy schedule, Uttar Pradesh chief minister-designate Akhilesh Singh Yadav has found time to receive greetings and share pleasantries with his close friends and college mates from Mysore on the eve of swearing-in ceremony at his Vikramaditya Marg residence in Lucknow.
Relishing his favourite Mysore Pak sweet specially carried from Mysore, Mr Yadav recalled his college days in “heritage city” Mysore and few of the old memories. Though the meeting lasted only for 15-20 minutes (understandably), his friends felt Mr Yadav remained unchanged and is the same down-towards and humble human being despite designated as youngest CM of most populated state in India.
After the meeting, Dasharth Rai, who is the closest friend of Mr Yadav from Mysore, told the Asian Age: “We shared a few jokes. Akhilesh told us that he had enjoyed the days in Mysore where he stayed away from limelight and lived a life of a common man. He enquired about the whereabouts of few other friends and our conversation was purely apolitical. However, Akhilesh said expectations are high and will strive hard to full-fill most of the promises made in the election manifesto”. Distributing the VVIP passes for friends to attend the swearing-in ceremony, Mr Yadav promised that he would visit Mysore once the government is formed and stabilised.
