New curfew passes are being given

On the second consecutive day on Friday, no newspaper could be published from Srinagar as the authorities had cancelled curfew passes issued to media persons and the other unfavourable conditions on the ground proved unhelpful too.

Though an official announcement made here in the afternoon said that editors and accredited mediapersons could obtain fresh curfew passes from the district magistrate’s office or the state informational department, not many could actually do that as venturing out of their homes and offices where they are stuck since Tuesday evening was not possible, rather it was risky.
