Newly married groom elopes with mother of three in UP

Leaving his newly wedded bride in the lurch, a man eloped with a mother of three children one day after his marriage, police said here on Sunday.

Sanjay got married at Parikshhat Garh in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh on April 19 but the next day, he eloped with another woman in his neighbourhood who is a mother of three children, SP (Rural) Jagdish Sharma said.

The woman's husband then filed a police complaint against the groom, the SP said, adding, the newly wedded girl's family, too, filed a complaint.

Missing persons report for the man and the woman have also been lodged and investigation is on, Sharma said.
