Next target to be DMK’s A. Raja
After the exit of Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan and Mr Suresh Kalmadi’s resignation as a CPP secretary over corruption allegations on Adarsh in Mumbai and CWG in New Delhi, pressure is likely to mount on the DMK to take action against communications and information technology minister A. Raja over the 2G spectrum allocation controversy.
The Congress action against Mr Chavan and Mr Kalmadi is expected to help the Opposition’s offensive against Mr Raja and the DMK in Parliament.
The BJP has already put Mr Raja in the dock and the AIADMK is likely to get more aggressive ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. It is no secret that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wants Mr Raja out of the Cabinet but is unwilling to act to not annoy the DMK. But his silence will certainly aid the Oppostion.
