Nine of a family convicted

A local court has convicted nine persons of one family for attacking an advocate in 2005.

DR Thakur, Chief Judicial Magistrate, convicted them on Tuesday to nine months of simple imprisonment, for carrying out the attack in January 2005 in Nagchal Village of the district.

The court further said that the sentence shall run concurrent.

Convicts Shobha Ram, Ram Singh, Bhaghi Rath, Lachaman Dass, along with Chaman, Sakuntla, Hasnu and Kubja Devi, all resident of Daundi village attacked family members of Bhupinder Singh on the night of 24th January 2005, the prosecution said.
