Nine people become blind after operation in Andhra

Nine people lost eye sight after undergoing surgery in a private hospital in Ongole town of Andhra Pradesh.

The victims who belong to poor families were shifted to the government-run Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital on Sunday.

The doctors who checked the victims said the retinas were damaged and chances of regaining eyesight were bleak.

Doctors of the private hospital where the victims underwent cataract operation three days ago blamed infection for the tragedy.
