Nitish arrives in mumbai, no protests
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar arrived in Mumbai on Saturday evening to participate in “Bihar Divas” celebration to be held on Sunday evening.
After arriving at around 7 pm on Saturday evening, Mr Kumar directly went to Powai to dine with his close friend and thereafter headed to Sahyadri Guest House at Malabar Hill late on Saturday night.
No tension or attempts to block his convoy were reported on his arrival. Earlier, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray had dared Mr Kumar to visit Mumbai for “Bihar Divas” celebrations, to which the Bihar chief minister had replied, “There is no hurdle for me in going there. I can go to any part of the country and do not need any visa from anyone to go to Mumbai and I will go there.” On Friday, however, Mr Thackeray toned down his stand by stating that he has no objection to Mr Kumar’s visit if he does not make a political speech.
