No desire to be deputy CM: Kunhalikutty
Indian Union Muslim League general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty said on Tuesday that he had no desire to become deputy chief minister as alleged by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan.
Addressing the press, he said there had been no discussion regarding deputy chief ministership in the Opposition United Democratic Front.
“Achuthanandan has said this because he is sure that the UDF will come to power,’’ said the IUML leader.
Reacting to reports that Mr Achuthanandan had decided to personally monitor the probe in the ice cream parlour case, the IUML leader said the Chief Minister himself becoming the investigator is unheard of anywhere.
“The developments have helped people understand that there is no evidence at all in the ice cream sex racket case,” he said. “It is also a violation of code of conduct.”
The LDF is coming up such gimmicks because it is confronted with an impending disaster, he added.
Mr Kunhalikutty said if voted to power the UDF will strive to implement eco-friendly development.
