No internal probe: BJP lets CM off hook
Dec. 16:The much hyped internal probe by the BJP into the allegations against Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, is not likely to happen. This was confirmed by none other than the party’s Rajya Sabha MP, M. Rama Jois, who was to head the three member panel to look into the charges pertaining to favouritism in land allotment.
Soon after the allegations on nepotism and misuse of office was made against Mr Yeddyurappa, the party summoned him to New Delhi. Despite strong pressure from within the BJP that he should be told to resign and make way for another leader, Mr Yeddyurappa was allowed to continue with the central leadership making peace with the rival faction by announcing an inquiry into the alleged scams. The committee was to go through the documents and give a report.
However, Mr Jois told Deccan Chronicle, “After newspapers had published reports on the committee, I checked with the BJP central office. I was told that no such move is on the anvil.”
