No tainted in Cabinet, please: Sena

Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday welcomed Mr Prithviraj Chavan as the new Maharashtra chief minister. However, the Sena leader also cautioned Mr Chavan not to include any of the tainted ministers involved in the Adarsh Housing Society scam into his Cabinet.

“Action should be taken against all those who were involved in the Adarsh scam. The chief minister’s resignation is not the end. No corrupt political leader should be included in the new state cabinet. If that happens, the Sena will hold strong agitations against it,” Mr Thackeray said.
The Sena leader also demanded action against the bureaucrats involved in the Adarsh scam. “It has always been the case that while some action is taken against politicians, bureaucrats go scot-free even if they are equally responsible.”
