North East Frontier Railway services rescheduled
The North East Frontier Railway has cancelled, short-terminated, diverted and regulated several trains from Thursday due to construction work on the new broadgauge line between New Coochbehar and Golakganj stations.
NF Railway Chief Public Relations Officer S Hajong said here today that the changes have been made from November 3 to November 11 due to non-interlocking work at New Coochbehar and Golakgunj for the proposed commissioning of the new broad gauge line between New Coochbehar and Golakganj.
Trains to be cancelled include New Jalpaiguri-Bongaigaon-New Jalpaiguri Passenger, New Jalpaiguri-Bamanhat Passenger, Bamanhat-New Jalpaiguri Passenger, New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar Junction-New Jalpaiguri Intercity Express.
The trains to be diverted or short-terminated include Sealdah-New Coochbehar Uttarbanga Express which will be diverted to run via New Jalpaiguri-Siliguri Junction up to Alipurduar Jn instead of its original route via New Jalpaiguri - RaninagarJalpaiguri up to New Coochbehar and will terminate at Alipurduar Jn.
Accordingly, New Coochbehar-Sealdah Uttarbanga Express will originate from Alipurduar Jn instead of New Coochbehar and will run via Siliguri Jn-New Jalpaiguri instead of via Raninagar Jalpaiguri - New Jalpaiguri. Malda Town-Coochbehar DEMU Passenger leaving Malda Town will be short-terminated at New Jalpaiguri and will remain cancelled between New Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar.
