AGE CORRESPONDENT
New Delhi
Aug. 17: The Union minister of state for home, Jitendra Singh, replying to an unstarred question by LJP chief and Rajya Sabha member Ram Vilas Paswan, informed the Upper House on Wednesday that four of the six people accused of gangraping a backward class girl in Bihar in July had been arrested.
Citing a news report published in this newspaper on July 27, Mr Paswan had sought to know the status of the investigation into the incident in which a 15-year-old girl of Kharwar caste was allegedly gangraped for two days by five upper-caste youths and then paraded naked in Chilhari village in Buxar district as punishment for the unproven crime of stealing money from her master’s house.
