Nostalgia at flash mob in Kochi
Kochi: A spectacular flash mob was performed at Oberon Mall in Kochi on Sunday evening as 100 dancers from various walks of life moved their feet in an impressive show.
The organizers claimed this was the biggest ever flash mob performance in South India. The event was organized as a promo for an upcoming music and dance show, Nostalgia, scheduled for August to mark the 100 years of Indian cinema. Kochi rocked to the thump of the steps as the performers came together to put up an intense show.
The performance was put up by students from various colleges and schools, IT professionals and entrepreneurs across the city. The participants ranged from an age group of 5 to 26 years, said the organizers.
The flash mob lasted 10 minutes. Nostalgia is the maiden venture of the dance club Layatharang. Oberon Mall will be the Mall partners for the retro night.
“This unprecedented extravaganza is a gift from the youth to the bygone generation of the Indian cinema. Through Nostalgia, Layatharang intends to showcase the mesmerizing past and the evergreen legends of Indian cinema, through dance and music.
Layatharang is gearing up to transform the retro show into a complete journey for the city of Kochi. It will be a true celebration of a century of Indian cinema. Kochi is hoping to open up to a new trend of retro mood through Nostalgia,” said Lakshmy M.A., the coordinator of Layatharang.
