Now, a Telangana horn

Many motorists across the Telangana region have found a new sound.

In places like Nalagonda, Warangal, Medak, Khammam, Hyderabad and few other places, motorists have been installing horns that scream 'Jai Telangana' when honked.

Md. Safi, owner of a store that sells these horns in Hyderabad, said, "We have recently started installing these horns. These are not legal. Despite a warning, people insist on these horns, so we have to oblige. I had borrowed the tune from a friend who had installed them in two-wheelers."

P. Prakash, who got the ‘Jai Telangana’ horn installed on his motorbike, said, "I got it done for Rs 250. It gets the message across and now few of my friends have also installed the horn."

Raju, a student, said, "My bike is with my brother in Bengaluru, but as soon as it comes here, I will get the horn installed. We want everyone to know that we support Telangana."

Meanwhile, M.V. Srinivas Rao, inspector of police (traffic), Nalgonda, warned, "Such kind of horns are illegal. So far, we have not caught any one with these horns but, they will be fined for using such horns. We didn’t know such horns existed. We will keep an eye on them."
