OGH junior docs protest sexual abuse by senior

Hyderabad: Junior women doctors and nurses staged a protest at Osmania General Hospital on Thursday against one Dr G.V. Prakash, an assistant professor in the General Surgery department, alleging that he had been sexually harassing them.
The junior doctors staged a dharna in front of his office and the Telangana Doctors’ Joint Action Com-mittee, too, demanded stern action against him, including removal from duty.
Medical superintendent of Osmania Hospital Dr K. Ramdas assured the agitators that Dr Prakash would be transferred and the matter was finally settled after Dr Prakash himself gave in writing that he was willing to be transferred to any other hospital in the state.
No police complaint was being made.
