Omar almost a lakhpati on twitter
Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday frankly accepted the title of Lakhpati. As the long list of followers is inching closer to 1 lakh mark, Mr Abdullah wrote on the micro blogging site, “I am almost a Lakhpati”.
He is likely to touch the milestone shortly. The list of his followers have already crossed 99,900 mark.
Acknowledging the growing list of followers, the chief minister also shared his view on the controversies he invited on the social networking site. “Given the number of controversies I’ve been in, I hereby officially debunk the theory of co-relation between controversies and no of followers”, he said in a crisp tweet. A follower quipped, “Otherwise also, what do you hope for being in public life.” That too being the chief minister of restive Jammu and Kashmir.
Writing about the ongoing age row involving the Army chief and the Union government, Mr Abdullah said, “I wonder how the twiterati would be reacting if it were the Cabinet secretary fighting for his “honour” rather than the Army chief.”
Earlier in the day, the chief minister also reacted on the developments in Gujarat. Commenting on the issue of Gujarat Lokayukta he wrote, “My time line is strangely silent of all those who never tired of telling me to follow the Gujarat model.”
