‘Omar govt has lost moral authority’
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and Opposition PDP patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed on Monday, while launching a scathing attack at the present incumbent Omar Abdullah, said he had lost moral authority to govern.
“The government under him has failed to carry forward the agenda of peace and development in the state. Also, due to its misdeeds and failure to connect with the masses, it has lost moral authority to govern,” he said.
Speaking at a party workers’ convention near Jammu, the Mufti claimed that his government had pioneered the agenda of peace and development in the state to establish sustainable peace in the region. “The agenda pioneered and pursued by the PDP had given encouraging result after 2002,” he said adding that the present government headed by Omar Abdullah has miserably failed to carry forward this agenda. “What to say of initiating any further confidence building measure (CBM), this even failed to carry forward the pro-peace agenda of previous regime,” he alleged and reiterated that her party will aggressively pursue its pro-peace agenda.
The former chief minister also asserted, “The process of reconciliation and to change the destiny of the people is still incomplete because the present regime during the last three years has failed to connect itself with the common masses.”
He added that alienation among the people have been increasing with every passing day due to widening of the gap between the commoners and those at the helm of affairs.
