One washed away, 10 rescued from flashfloods in JK
One person was washed away while ten others were rescued from the swirling waters in Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mohinder Singh, 36, was washed away in flashfloods in Koulpur stream in Vijaypur belt of Samba district.
His body was recovered from the stream at Khanpur on Tuesday morning, police said.
Flashfloods struck the two districts when 20,000 cusecs of water was released from Rajit Sagar Dam in river Ravi here.
Around six persons were rescued from Ravi river after 13 hours, this morning at Lakhanpur belt of Kathua district, they said.
Four persons, including 2 children from the Gujjar community were also rescued in Kathua district, they said.
