The Bhopal Gas Peedit Sangharsh Sahyog Samiti (Bhopal gas-affected peoples struggle support committee), a group espousing the cause of the victims, has written an open letter to Mr Obama seeking extradition of Warren Anderson to India for the 1984 gas leak at American company Dow Chemicals’ (formerly Union Carbide) factory in Bhopal.
In another open letter to Mr Obama, four Tibetan organisations have appealed him to use his first state visit to India to “press for fundamental change on the ground in Tibet.”
