Over 800 Hazare supporters sign memo to PM in blood
Over 800 people, including students, signed in blood a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, expressing their support to the movement against corruption led by Anna Hazare.
The memorandum prepared by All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) was signed by students and others supporting Hazare's campaign.
"Over 800 persons including students from the Gujarat University and other colleges signed the memorandum with their blood," Bhavik Raja of the AIDSO told mediapersons.
The blood was drawn from thumb of the volunteer using sterilised needles under supervision of a medical expert, he said, adding that many have put in their thumb impressions in blood on the memorandum.
"This is the need of the hour and the youth of the city are in support of Hazare and want corruption to be eradicated from the country," Raja said.
He said that the memorandum along with signature of over 800 persons in blood would be sent to the Prime Minister through registered post tomorrow. The members and volunteers of AIDSO have been holding protests and rallies since last eight days ever since Hazare began his fast demanding passing of the Jan Lokpal Bill in the parliament.
