Padmanabha Temple: Inventory report to SC in 10 days
Amicus curiae Gopal Subramaniam said a report on the inventorying process in Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple would be submitted to the Supreme Court in 10 days.
“I require 10 days to compile various sources from the literature. I also need to do some cross verification,” he said.
Subramaniam, who arrived here on September 28, met chief minister Oommen Chandy and members of the royal family to discuss the documentation process.
“The treasures of the Padmanabha Swamy temple should be protected”, he told reporters here on Saturday. “All issues related to the documenting process will be sorted out amicably,” he added.
Gopal Subramaniam was appointed amicus curiae when there were no lawyers to appear in the Supreme Court for the expert committee carrying out the documentation of the temple’s riches.
All reports submitted by the expert committee and the various affidavits filed by interested parties have been handed over to the amicus curiae.
“The amicus curiae is not here to intervene in the issue but to collect as much objective facts as possible to aid the Supreme Court in taking the right decisions,” a source said.
The amicus curiae will check whether the recommendations of the expert committee, including a fool-proof security plan, have been implemented.
