Pak troops breach truce at IB again
Pakistan troops on Wednesday morning breached truce consecutively on the second day in Jammu region by resorting to unprovoked firing at three forward Border Out Posts (BOPs) in R.S. Pura sector. One BSF jawan was injured. This was eighth ceasefire violation in a row this month in Jammu region.
A senior BSF officer maintained that Pak troops opened fire on three Indian BOPs viz., Chhawni, Jabbowal and S.H. Way along International Border in R.S. Pura sector of Jammu at around 6.00 am. The firing continued till 7.30 am.

Civil society calls for ban on RSS

In the wake of reports claiming involvement of some RSS leaders in terror blasts, civil society members on Wednesday demanded an immediate ban on the RSS and its affiliated organisations.
The members included noted social activists, educationists, and theatre personalities In a statement issued, the members cited recent incident of attack on a TV news channel office where suspected RSS activists and said the act was a “planned moved to terrorise and intimidate.” They accused the Sangh of carrying out various kinds of systematic and underground terror and violent activities.”

Army orders probe against brigadier

The Army has launched an investigation into complaints made by a property dealer against a serving officer of rank of brigadier posted with the Army’s Delhi-based Military Farms wing. The complaints pertain to certain financial dealings that allegedly involve the two. Defence sources said that the property dealer had alleged that the brigadier had issued certain threats to him regarding payment of money.
Sources said the brigadier had countered the allegations, by reportedly saying that he only wanted to recover a financial investment made earlier with the property dealer.

3 senior FCI officials suspended

Taking cognisance of media reports related to wastage of wheat in government godowns, the ministry of consumer affairs and food and public distribution has suspended three senior Food Corporation of India officials for dereliction of duty.
An inspection team of the ministry observed spoilage of wheat stocks at the FCI depots and serious dereliction of duty by the officers concerned.
The approximate quantity of grain damage is 30 tones at Hapur, 15 tones at Orai and over 300 tones at Harduaganj costing nearly Rs. 50 lakh.
