Pakistan Navy frogmen gave training: Headley
The role of Pakistan “state actors” in 26/11 has been confirmed after Pakistani-Amercian LeT terrorist David Headley told Indian interrogators that Pakistani Navy frogmen gave underwater training and directions to the 10 Pakistani terrorists who used the sea-route to travel from Karachi to Mumbai and unleashed terror claiming 168 lives. A frogman is someone who is trained to dive, swim or combat in a military capacity which is an important feature of naval special operations.
Government sources said that Headley has confirmed the details given by the lone captured Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab in his statement during interrogation to the Mumbai police. “If Pakistan does not believe Kasab’s statement, what reason does it have to disbelieve Headley confessions now?,” an official said.
While the Pakistan’s ISI is believed to have funded Headley’s trips to India for carrying out surveillance of terror targets for 26/11, the Pakistan Navy’s frogmen were involved in guiding his movements to Laskhar camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), sources said. Headley has also told his interrogators that the ISI had given Rs 25 lakhs to purchase a boat for terrorists to attack Mumbai originally in September 2008. Indian investigators also have information that ISI chief Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha had met one of the handlers of the Mumbai attack, Sajjid Mir, who is currently in a Pakistani jail. Headley also identified through voice sample test two ISI officers believed to be constant contact with the 26/11 terrorists.
Home Secretary G.K. Pillai had recently said that the ISI was “literally controlling and coordinating the (Mumbai) attack from beginning to end”.
