Panchayat elections postponed in six districts due to flood fear
Hyderabad: Following heavy rains and floods, the State Election Commission has postponed the Panchayat elections in as many as six districts.
The SEC has postponed elections which were originally scheduled to be held on July 31 in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Khammam, Warangal and East Godavari.
Elections have been postponed in all mandals of Bhadrachalam Revenue Division of Khammam district. Similarly, elections in 70 Panchayats which are affected due to floods have been postponed. The elections have been postponed following recommendations by the concerned District Collectors.
