Pandey’s tenure as Prasar Bharati chairperson extended
The tenure of Prasar Bharati chairperson Mrinal Pandey has been extended by three years.
The extension was given by a panel headed by vice-president Hamid Ansari, sources said.
Other members of the panel include secretary information and broadcasting ministry Raghu Menon and chairperson of the Press council of India G.N. Ray.
The sources told PTI that the decision has been taken and the formal announcement in this reagrd is likely to come before Monday.
Pandey was appointed Prasar Bharati chairperson on January 23, 2010, following the resignation of former chairperson Arun Bhatnagar in May, 2009.
Her current term is ending on April 30.
Pandey, 65, is a well-known journalist, who was the editor of Hindi Daily 'Hindustan' till August 31, 2009.
