Passenger train derails in Bihar
The engine and two compartments of the Bhagalpur-Ajimganj-Fatua passenger train derailed between Bhagalpur and Sabaur railway stations in Bhagalpur district early today, but no casualty was reported, railway sources said.
Though the cause of the derailment was yet to be ascertained, sources said it could be the result of track fracture between the two stations. Eastern Railway's Divisional Railway Manager (Malda Division) M.L. Mathur reached the spot with a relief team and arrangements were made for transportation of the affected passengers.
Several trains, including the UP Brahmaputra Mail, were diverted as works continued on a war-footing to repair the track, sources said.
