Pawar: Sule not seeking ministership

Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar said Sunday that his request to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to reduce his portfolios was not intended either to elevate his NCP colleague Praful Patel to Cabinet rank or to seek a ministerial berth for daughter Supriya Sule.
“No, No. She (Supriya) is not interested in joining the government at all at this end. And, second, I am not going to insist that (my) ministry be given to my party,” he said in an interview to CNN-IBN when asked if he was hoping that the ministry he gives up would be given to his daughter.
“We know the UPA practice. Your total number in Parliament (determines) how many portfolios you get... And we don’t have any right to (seek) more.”
