Petrified Sun Pictures CEO Saxena to be quizzed

CEO Hansraj Saxena of Sun Pictures, arrested on Sunday following a complaint of cheating and extortion from a movie distributor here, was given into police custody for two days by a metropolitan magistrate before him the crestfallen cinema honcho was produced here.

The police took Mr Saxena to an undisclosed station for grilling after failing in its attempt to gain his custody for five days from the 23rd metopolitan magistrate in Saidapet.

Mr Saxena’s lawyer stoutly opposed the police custody saying his client was sure to be tortured during police interrogation.

He argued unsuccessfully for his bail. A section of Kollywood producers and distributed had celebrated his arrest by bursting crackers and distributing sweets at the South India Film Chamber on Monday.

Mr Saxena’s wife Mahibala has sent a telegram to Governor S.S.Barnala seeking er protection for her husband. She alleged that his life was in danger after his arrest ‘on the basis of a concocted charge’.
