Piles of blankets saved teen when factory collapsed
It is nothing less then a miracle for 18-year-old Nitish, who was trapped in the debris of four-storied building of a factory which collapsed on Sunday night in Jalandhar. He was rescued after 73 hours late Wednesday night. It was piles of blankets which saved Nitish, a resident of Gopalganj, Bihar.
Miraculously, Nitish did not receive any injury even after lying buried under the rubble for more than three days.
After being taken out of the debris, Nitish told that he had left all hope to come out alive from the debris. He said that the piles of blankets stocked on the floor where he was working at the time of collapse saved his life. The boy said that the building caved in in a flash, without giving him any time to react. However, as the debris fell on the blankets around him his life was saved. He said that his friends took away his mobile with them so he could not contact anyone while trapped in the debris.
The boy gave up all hope of being taken out alive and he even tore currency notes worth `10,000, which were in his pocket, in frustration. The money was part of his and his associate worker’s salary paid on the same day.
