Pirates take ship with 17 Indian crew
Mumbai, Feb. 8: Somali pirates on Tuesday hijacked an Italian-flagged vessel with 17 Indians and five Italian crew members on board. The ship was heading to Malaysia from Sudan when it was captured in the Indian Ocean.
The pirates boarded the MV Savina Caylyn after a sustained attack by a skiff carrying five pirates.
The pirates reportedly fired rockets and kept up a rally of bullets from machine guns at the vessel, and they were believed to have seized control of the tanker at around 5.20 am IST.
