PM’s doc is injured in accident
Renowned cardiac surgeon Ramakant Panda and his family members were wounded in a road accident in Assam’s Nagaon district on Monday.
Dr Panda, with his family, was going to the Kaziranga National Park on a holiday when the car he was travelling in collided with a speeding truck near Samaguri in Nagaon district.
Dr Panda and his family members, who are stated to have sustained minor injuries in the accident, were shifted to Guwahati in an Army helicopter soon after the first aid at Nagaon civil hospital.
Nagaon superintendent of police Surendra Kumar told this newspaper that Dr Panda was talking but sustained head injury in the accident, which took place at about 2 pm. The car driver and an Assam police official escorting the surgeon were critically hurt in the accident.
