PM confers with K’taka ministers
After the Cabinet meeting here on Tuesday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh held a 20-minute-long meeting with his ministerial colleagues, who belong to Karnataka, and discussed with them the developments in the state following the controversial trust vote in the Assembly.
Home minister P. Chidambram also attended the meeting, where Union ministers S.M. Krishna, Mallikarjun Kharge and M. Veerappa Moily were present. While Mr Krishna and Mr Moily are former chief ministers of the state, Mr Kharge is a former PCC president.
Sources close to the meeting informed that the leaders discussed every aspect of the political developments in the state, including the issue of fresh offer by governor H.R. Bhardwaj to the chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to seek a vote of confidence and its acceptance by the latter.
