PM to dedicate Bina refinery to nation on Friday
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will dedicate to the nation on Friday the oil refineries project at Bina in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, official sources said on Thursday.
Bharat Oman Refineries Limited (BORL), is a company promoted by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) with equity participation from Oman Oil Company Limited (OOCL) to set up a six Million Metric Tonnes per Annum (MMTPA) grass root refinery at Bina.
The refinery will produce Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Euro III and Euro IV Petrol and Diesel, Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) and Light Aromatic Naptha with sulpur as by-product.
The project also involves a crude supply system consisting of a Single Point Mooring system (SPM), Crude Oil Storage Terminal (COT) at Vadinar, District Jamnagar, Gujarat and 935 Km long cross country crude pipeline from Vadinar to Bina for supplying crude, the sources said.
The refinery was set up with an estimated cost of12,000 crores.
Besides Madhya Pradesh chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union ministers Kantilal Bhuria, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Arun Yadav, senior Congress leaders including Congress general secretary, Digvijay Singh among others will be present on the occasion.
Madhya Pradesh government has provided 3194.20 acre land to Bharat-Oman Refineries Limited in which 2313.40 acre land was owned by the government and rest is private land.
