PM greets nation on Mahavir Jayanti

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti to be celebrated on Saturday.

In a message, the Prime Minister said that the teachings of Lord Mahavira inspire us to lead a simple life of compassion and selflessness. "May this festival strengthen in one and all the commitment to truth, non-violence, and harmony," said the Prime Minister, who left China on Friday for Kazakhstan in the last leg of his two-nation tour.
