Chennai: The firebrand face of PMK and Vanniyar Sangam leader Kaduvetti J. Guru on Tuesday appeared before the Commissioner of Revenue Administration (CRA) along with party cadres accused of damaging public property in the aftermath of their party’s April 24 conference in Mamallapuram.
PMK founder’s son and former Union minister Anbumani Ramadoss accompanied him. However, party founder Dr S. Ramadoss, who was also summoned, did not turn up. Meanwhile, the state government is contemplating to wrap up the case within a period of three months or even earlier.

Guru and his party cadres appeared on the second day of hearing pertaining to 59 cases of damage to state buses in three districts including Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram.
While a few partymen appeared in person, vakalats (written consent of lawyer to represent a person) have been filed on behalf of others. In all, 1,052 cases have been slapped on PMK cadres. “The argument will start soon as the initial procedures are going on. There will be no further hearings this week, as we will record the statements in some other cases. And, we are planning to determine the quantum within three months or even earlier,” an official said.
“Legislator J.Guru appeared for hearing while a vakalat has been filed on behalf of party founder Ramadoss and others,” said PMK sources. Earlier, Anbumani met J. Guru and party cadres who were waiting to appear before CRA.
NSA against Guru revoked
