PoK part of country, will take it back: Shivraj
Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said here on Sunday that independence is incomplete as one-third of Kashmir remains occupied by Pakistan.
Mr Chouhan was speaking to mediapersons at the Independence Day function in the state capital. Referring to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, he said that it is an integral part of this country and “We shall take it back”. Even Parliament has passed a resolution in this regard, he said, adding that entire Kashmir belongs to India.
Addressing the special Independence Day function, the chief minister reiterated his commitment to make Madhya Pradesh a developed and prosperous state. He said that Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to guarantee delivery of public services within a fixed timeframe.
An independent department for public services is also being set up in the state to implement the Madhya Pradesh Public Services Guarantee Act, which is an effective legal instrument for accountable and sensitive governance. The CM said that the state government has focused attention on seven priority areas to rebuild MP into a fully developed state.
The state government’s focused efforts, he said, are aimed at making agriculture profitable, building infrastructure, maximizing investments, expanding education and health facilities, empowering women and weaker sections, improving law and order and ensuring good governance. Regarding the efforts to achieve self reliance, Mr Chouhan said that after completing feeder separation by December 2012, they would be able to ensure 24-hour power supply in urban and rural areas and minimum eight-hour of power supply to the farm sector.
The state has registered an unprecedented increase of 3162 megawatt in installed power generation capacity in last six years.
A separate department of New and Renewable Energy has also been set up to promote non-conventional sources of energy.
The country’s first solar energy park is also coming up in Rajgarh district, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan added.
