Police book 32 in assault on scientist, daughter
Thirty-two people have been booked after a shocking incident of assault against a retired scientist and his daughter in Baruipur, West Bengal.
Reports claimed that on Sunday, members from a local club beat up retired scientist Aparesh Bhattacharya and daughter, Aditi, allegedly at the behest of their houseowner.
The goons even stripped and 'molested' Aditi - leaving her out on the road bleeding.
Police have now moved against the culprits and have slapped cases under bailable sections.
"We've received a complaint from Aditi and started a case against the owner of the house, Gautam Pal, and others," Arnab Biswas, sub-divisional police officer, Baruipur, was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times
In all, 32 people, including the houseowner's wife, were named in the FIR.
