Police will reconstruct scene with tak

A crime branch team, along with Parvez Tak, will go to Igatpuri again on Tuesday to reconstruct the sequence of events of the evening when starlet Laila Khan and her family’s murders were committed. Officers said that the forensics will use a superimposition technique to determine the face of the deceased by examining the skull. Bone samples of neck and thigh of all the deceased have also been given to forensics for verification of age.
“We will be sending our team with Parvez to Selina’s Igatpuri farmhouse to reconstruct the sequence of events when he, along with Sahir Hussain, killed the six members of the family,” said Himanshu Roy, joint commissioner of police, crime.
Explaining the superimposition technique, Mr Roy said, “This technique can create a picture of the deceased by studying its skull. We will receive the reports in around 7-8 days. We have also sent the DNA samples of Selina and Reshma’s mothers to match with the deceased’s DNA.”
Another source from the crime branch said that it suspected that Parvez might have killed some of the victims on the first floor of the farmhouse.

Italy moves Supreme Court in marine case
New Delhi, July 16: The Italian government has moved the Supreme Court seeking quashing of the criminal proceedings against its two marines charged with the murder of two Indian fishermen off Kerala coast this February.
The petition filed by the Italian government and its two Marines has challenged the May 29 order of the Kerala high court, which had held that the duo were liable to be tried under the jurisdiction of the Indian courts.
The petitioners have also sought a stay on all further criminal proceedings in the case pending before a Kollam court contending that Kerala police had no authority to conduct the probe and courts in India have no jurisdiction as the incident occurred outside the Indian territorial waters.
The Italian government is being represented by Titus & Co, Advocates and senior advocate Harish Salve, who has settled the petition, will argue the matter in the top court.
The case pertains to the killings of two Indian fishermen by Italian naval officers off Kerala coast in February. — PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
