‘Porngate’ hits BJP in Gujarat

After Karnataka’s “porngate”, a similar scandal hit the BJP in the Gujarat Assembly, where two party MLAs were allegedly caught watching obscene pictures, prompting the Speaker to seize their tablet devices and order a probe.

The two MLAs — Shankar Chaudhary (Radhanpur) and Jetha Bharward (Shera) — were seen watching sleazy pictures of women during House proceedings on Tuesday by a journalist, who complained about it to the Speaker.
The journalist, Janak Dave, said: “Chaudhary showed his tab to another MLA, Bharwad. First they watched pictures of Swami Vivekananda, then cartoons and then pictures of women”. The two MLAs, however, rejected the accusation, and said it was a “conspiracy” to malign them and the party.
