Prabhunath transferable: JD-U

The JD(U) on Sunday made light of senior party leader Prabhunath Singh joining the RJD. JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav remarked that the membership of the RJD and his party is “transferable”.
“When elections come leaders change loyalties. Also, the membership of the JD(U) and the RJD is transferable. Many leaders from the RJD have also joined the JD(U). Mr Prabhunath Singh had already been working with the Kisan Panchayat by going against the party for over an year,” Mr Yadav told reporters on Sunday.
Mr Singh, who had been three-time Lok Sabha MP from Maharajganj, joined the RJD in the presence of party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Saturday.
On the move of another senior party leader and Lok Sabha MP from Munger, Rajiv Ranjan “Lalan” Singh, sharing the dais with Congress president Sonia Gandhi when she visits Bihar, the JD(U) chief stated the dissident leader is no more with the party by heart.
However, he refused to say if the party would take any disciplinary action against Mr Lallan Singh. “We do not expel leaders and even when we do so we take them back,” Mr Yadav remarked in a lighter vein.
The JD(U) chief stated that the party will contest the Bihar elections on development plank and would seek votes of the people for the work done by the Nitish Kumar-led state government.
He, however, reiterated the demand for special status for Bihar by invoking losses suffered by the state due to division, which led to the creation of Jharkhand.
The JD(U) also hit out at Union ministers issuing statements against the NDA government in Bihar during their visits by daring them for a debate in the Parliament on all the issues that they have been raising on the eve of the elections. “The Union ministers are telling complete lies,” Mr Yadav stated.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
