Pranab to rein in T-MPs

Jan. 4: The Union finance minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, has called a meeting of all party MPs from Telangana on Wednesday. Sources said the objective of the meeting would be to once again warn the MPs not to comment on the Telangana issue till the party high command takes a decision.

The meeting assumes significance as it will be held a day before the Justice Srikrishna Committee report is made public. Sources said that both the Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, and the PCC chief, Mr D. Srinivas, have told party leaders in New Delhi to convince the Telangana MPs to keep mum as they have been issuing statements despite receiving instructions not to speak on the subject.
