Priest stoned to death

A 65-year-old priest was stoned to death by unidentified persons at Bhuiyandih here, police said today.

The body of Dhani Ram, a priest of Maa Tara Mandir, was recovered from a room inside the temple premises today, sources said.

A preliminary investigation suggested that the priest was stoned to death in his sleep but exact reason and the identity of the killer was not yet ascertained.

The body has been sent for post-mortem as police began investigation to track down the culprit, sources added
