Privilege notice on Buddha
Leader of the Opposition Partha Chatterjee on Tuesday moved a privilege motion against chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee claiming he had intentionally misled the House while making a statement on Nanoor. “In reply to RSP member Tapan Hore’s query, Mr Bhattacharjee said that Birbhum SP was transferred following the
murder of former CPI(M) MLA Ananda Das in Nanoor. The state home secretary, however, said that it was a routine transfer and had no relation with the Nanoor incident,” Mr Chatterjee said in the House. The Speaker will give his ruling on Thursday.
The Trinamul Congress MLAs on Tuesday entered the House after Question Hour.
Besides moving the privilege motion, Mr Chatterjee also raised a point of order on the recent incident of gherao of RPF personnel at Palitpur area in Burdwan district, allegedly by the CPI(M) workers, on July 3.
