The investigation of security agencies has revealed the involvement of fledgling Adivasi Peoples Army into the bomb blast on Guwahati-Puri Express train in Assam on Sunday in which explosive of Indian ordinance factory is suspected have been used.
Disclosing that aim of the fledgling militant outfit APA — propped up by outlawed Ulfa rebels was to make their presence felt, authoritative security sources told this newspaper that security forces have also succeeded in hacking email communication of the outfit indicating their involvement into the bomb attack. The local media also claimed to have received email from APA claiming responsibility for Sunday’s bomb blast on railway track near Rangia.
Pointing out that outfit was getting explosive materials from the firing range of Indian Army in Western Assam, security sources said that CBI in its chargesheet into the investigation of serial bomb blasts of Assam had also found evidence of explosive materials being smuggled from the firing range of Indian army to NDFB rebels. Meanwhile, anti-talk faction of Ulfa and NDFB has denied their involvement into the bomb blasts. In fact, the Ulfa has condemned the blast while NDFB rebels are under pressure from their own people to desist from carrying out any offensive in public places.
Informing that there are about 40 cadres of the Adivasi Peoples Army, which came into existence with the support of anti-talk Ulfa, security sources said that they have been extorting money from business houses and tea gardens in Western Assam district to regroup the outfit. The outfit was also involved in planting a powerful IED in a passenger coach of Kanchanjunga Express but it failed to incur any damage.
